Lisa Fritscher is a professional writer, lifelong animal lover, and devoted handler of Lady Priscilla, her father’s Dutch Shepherd service dog in training. With more than 15 years of experience in content development, a B.A. in Psychology, and a certificate in Dog Cognition from Duke University, Lisa brings empathy, clarity, and a science-informed lens to every story she tells.
Her journey with Lady Priscilla began in 2024, when a scrawny, scared shelter dog chose her new family with a glance—and permanently changed all of their lives. What started as a hopeful adoption became a life-changing bond of trust, transformation, and purpose.
Lisa previously served as the Phobias Guide for About.com (now Verywell Mind), where she explored the science of fear and emotional response. Her work has been cited in books, academic journals, and mental health platforms around the world. Today, those insights shape her approach to canine behavior and trust-building.
She shares their story not as a professional dog trainer, but as someone who learns in real time, celebrates progress, and believes deeply in second chances. Through storytelling, behavior insights, and real-world training reflections, she hopes to support others navigating the rescue-to-service journey—or simply building better communication with their dogs.
When she’s not writing or training, Lisa enjoys theme parks, travel, old sitcoms, and making Lady Priscilla laugh.
